Can’t Miss Draft Pick Misses

WASHINGTON — In what analysts are calling the most foreseeable catastrophe in the history of competitive fantasy football, local manager Greg Tillman doubled down Monday on his decision to select San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey with the first overall pick, describing the move as “honestly a no-brainer.”

“You look at the numbers, you look at the tape, and it’s just obvious,” said Tillman, 34, who has made this same declaration every August for the past six years with a 0% success rate. “This is the year everything clicks.”

McCaffrey, who has appeared on injury reports in each of the past four seasons, was unavailable for comment, as he was reportedly already listed as questionable.

Tillman, who also described Davante Adams as “criminally undervalued” and Travis Kelce as “still got it,” expressed full confidence in his roster heading into Week 1, a confidence experts say has historically served as a leading indicator of a last-place finish.

“I’m not worried,” Tillman added. “I’ve got really good depth.”

At press time, Tillman’s top three picks were on bye weeks simultaneously.
